"All In: A Life Offered Back to God – How to Know—and Trust—What God Wants for You"
A bishop once declared that heavier-than-air flight was not only impossible but “against the will of God.” The irony? His sons—Orville and Wilbur Wright—didn’t agree. They flew anyway.
We’ve all mistaken strong opinions for spiritual clarity. But Paul doesn’t want us guessing at God’s will. He shows us a different path:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world,
but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—
his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
(Romans 12:2)
If you want to know the will of God, you can’t just drift into it. You have to stop copying the patterns of the world, and let God reshape the way you think. That kind of clarity comes on the far side of surrender.
God’s will may not always be easy, but it’s always good. Always purposeful. Always rooted in love—even when we don’t see it right away.
And if you’re not sure where to begin, Paul gives you a starting point in 1 Thessalonians 5:
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:16–18)
These aren’t just spiritual platitude. They’re recalibrations. Each one shifts your mind back toward God’s character and presence.
Reflection Questions:
Dwelling Point: Romans 12:2
God’s will doesn’t start with certainty—it starts with surrender.
