"All In: A Life Offered Back to God – Why Your Gifts Matter More Than You Think"
Have you ever watched something come together in a way that was clearly bigger than the sum of its parts?
Years back, someone in our church had the idea to build a “flowering cross” for Easter Sunday. A man with carpentry skills built the frame. A few others added chicken wire. Greeters handed out fresh flowers. During the service, that rough wooden cross slowly filled with color and life—petal by petal, one small offering at a time. After church, we carried it down the street to a local nursing home. We gave flowers to the residents, shared the gospel, and told them they hadn’t been forgotten.
That cross was beautiful. But it only happened because people filled the slot God had given them.
Paul writes:
“For just as each of us has one body with many members,
and these members do not all have the same function,
so in Christ we, though many, form one body,
and each member belongs to all the others.”
(Romans 12:4–5)
You don’t have to be everything. But you are something—and the Spirit has already gifted you accordingly.
“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.”
(Romans 12:6)
The question is: are you offering that gift back?
Reflection Questions:
Dwelling Point: Romans 12:4–6
4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith.
You don’t need to do it all. Just do your part—and let grace do the rest.
