"Misreading Scripture with Western Eyes--A Review"
A close family friend of mine recently announced his departure from historic Christian orthodoxy in order to embrace a more "progressive" form of Christianity. Heartbroken and concerned, his mother reached out to me, asking if I'd be willing to speak with him--a request to which I heartily agreed. Regrettably, our conversation did not go as I had hoped. Sensing that things were taking a turn for the worse, I tried a different approach. I asked him to recommend a book to me that had been influential in leading him to embrace his new views.
