Some of the personal petitions on my prayer card this morning were: "Lord, give me a heart that rejoices in what you give, rather than one that resents what you take away." And, "Lord, don't let me be overly pleased with acceptance, nor take rejection too much to heart." Also, "Lord, help me to do the work in front of me and not worry about the bigger picture of my 'personal goals.'" I wrote down those requests on a 3x5 after reading Gaye Clark's article "Dreams Deferred and No Regrets." It's one of my personal favorites, and I'd like you to consider reading it this week. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
