Personal Call
When Faith Becomes Personal
Read Galatians 1:15–18 | Acts 9:1–9
Here’s the thing about following Jesus: It’s not enough for it to be your family's faith... your church’s faith... your friends' faith. At some point, it’s got to become your faith — personal, real, alive inside you.
When Paul talks about his conversion, he says it straight: "God set me apart from birth... but when the time came, He called me by His grace." Paul didn’t clean himself up first. He didn’t work his way to God. God came after him — hard and fast and personal.
It reminds me of something I heard once: "Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to McDonald's makes you a hamburger." It's funny — but it's true. You can be around Christian things your whole life and never actually know Jesus for yourself. The difference is when faith moves from "what we do" to "who I am."
When Jesus becomes your Savior, your Shepherd, your Lord, everything changes.
Some things to think about:
Practicing Faith (this week):
Spend 10 minutes alone with God. No distractions. No agenda. Just ask Him, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Write down what you sense — even if it's just one word or one small step.
Memory Verse Challenge:
"Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me." — John 14:1
A Prayer You Can Pray:
Lord, I don't just want a borrowed faith. I want to know You for myself. Speak to me. Lead me. Change me. I believe You have called me by Your grace, and I say yes to You again today.
