"God Rescues Us Because He Delights in Us"
Psalms 18:16-19 CEV
“You reached down from heaven, and you lifted me from deep in the ocean. You rescued me from enemies, who were hateful and too powerful for me. On the day disaster struck, they came and attacked, but you defended me. When I was fenced in, you freed and rescued me because you love me.”
I love these words from Julian of Norwich; they go well with the scripture we just read…
And these words: “You will not be overcome,” (Jeremiah 1:19) were said very insistently and strongly, for certainty and strength against every tribulation which may come. God did not say: You will not be assailed, you will not be belabored, you will not be disquieted, but God said: You will not be overcome. God wants us to pay attention to his words, and always to be strong in our certainty, and well-being and in woe, for God loves us and delights in us. From “Showings” by Julian of Norwich
