Start Packing the U-Haul (Part 2)
Obeying God once is hard.
Obeying Him over time—without results—is harder.
Abraham didn’t just leave.
He lived in tents… waiting.
Scripture
“By faith he went to live in the land of promise… living in tents… for he was looking forward to the city… whose builder is God.” — Hebrews 11:9–10
God gave Abraham a promise—but not a timeline.
No “arrival date.”
No progress updates.
Just waiting.
This is where faith stretches.
We don’t struggle only with what God asks—
we struggle with how long it takes. I don’t know about you but I hate waiting.
Psychologically, delay creates doubt. Spiritually, it reveals what we really trust.
Abraham kept going—not because he saw progress, but because he trusted the One who promised.
So what about you?
Where are you doing the right thing… but getting tired of waiting?
Reflect
Where in your life are you waiting on God right now?
How has the delay affected your trust?
Pray
God, when I don’t see progress, help me not lose trust.
Strengthen me to stay faithful in the waiting because I know that you are good and You know what you are doing.
Memory Verse
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” — Hebrews 11:6 (NIV)
