"Be Not Wise in Your Own Eyes": A Brief Reflection on Proverbs 3:7–8.
Living well in God’s world requires wisdom and humility, but we are neither wise nor humble. We are prideful and foolish. Thankfully, God’s Word and Spirit can effectually pierce the darkness in which we naturally reside and usher us into the kingdom of light (Col. 1:13; Eph. 5:8), resulting in a reorientation of life. Simply put, God can—and does—change us. He humbles the proud and confers wisdom on the foolish.
